Trimmed With Tartan Part III

February 21, 2018February 20, 2018 misstemby3 Comments

I finished the bodice on Saturday and took some time out on Sunday to take some photos of the completed bodice and overskirt. I'm definitely happy with my decision to go with the white sleeves and, while I toyed with the idea of adding some tartan around the edge of the bodice, I think I'm… Continue reading Trimmed With Tartan Part III

Trimmed with Tartan Part II

While reaching somewhat of an impasse with my bodice (See Part I here) I turned my attention to constructing my overskirt in the hopes that once I could see both together, it would help me decide how to proceed with the sleeves and such. I chose to work with the Truly Victorian August Overskirt (TV365),… Continue reading Trimmed with Tartan Part II

Third times a charm for the Dark Sailor Overskirt - the first two versions I tried just didn't work (the first went weird and looked oversized and baggy - the pattern and fabric did not agree, the second had striped pleats which looked weird against a smoother overskirt design. Those pics will never see the light of day...)
Speaking of chatelaines... the second one I bought arrived today! It's bronze, and from @razzberriesstudio - it also arrived with surprise treats! (Can anyone can tell me what the stick is? Curious Kiwi minds want to know)
My 'yay, promotion' present arrived this week (thr morning of my first day in my new role, actually - perfect timing!)
My Blue Check overskirt is finished - I had considered adding pleats to the hem, but it just looked too...busy, or chaotic? I think I prefer it plain, as there is enough going on already with the fabric pattern.
