I had been wanting to make a mourning dress for ages and then I found a fantastic black cotton with black sateen stripes. Perfect – I love a good stripe, and it gave the fabric some interest instead of being completely plain.
I made this in 2024 and got some photographs of it in Oamaru during the Victorian Heritage Celebrations.
