In 2024 I made a natural form dress from a dark navy oxford cotton that I bought from The Fabric Store.
It had been a while since I’d made a monotone dress, and I think I honestly forgot how great a single colour dress can look. While the dress was made from the same fabric, the pleated trim on the skirt stopped it from looking simple or plain.
I photographed it during the 2024 Steampunk Festival, meaning that I got to capture it in an autumn setting – something I don’t usually get to do with my dresses. It even meant that I didn’t have to get up at an impossibly early hour to take some sunrise photos.

The underskirt can also be worn with the Gingham Dress as well – mixing and matching for the win!
