When I realised that the Pretty Princess Dress was going to match my parents’ Christmas tree this year I joked to a friend that I could dress up and take photos with it. As soon as the joke was made, however, my brain started whirring with thoughts at the possibility of actually doing it.
So, after checking with Mum and Dad that they didn’t mind their daughter dressing as a Victorian for a couple of hours, I brainstormed ideas. And added my dress, undergarments, and accessories to my packing list.
A lot of our Christmas traditions today were either started, influenced, or popularised by the Victorians. This gave me several ideas to work with – Christmas crackers, stockings, oranges, A Christmas Carol…and, of course, the tree itself. I also couldn’t help including Huggie, the teddy bear I was gifted for my first Christmas, and made him a bow tie to match my dress.
Needless to say, it was quite fun to dress up and take the photos 😊
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, filled with love, light, and laughter. And, no doubt, filled with Victorian influences 🎄
Wow, you match the tree so well! I love bears, so I’m pleased that you included Huggie! The lights in your hands photo is one of my favorites as well.
Best,
Quinn
